Today while boarding what should have been just another ferry ride i/we were to encounter the Ferry Cop.(typical cop goes off without knowing regulations) while i will admit to breaqking a few laws in my time this is not a great example of one. A friend of mine who shall remain nameless was travelling with her dog and had made arrangements for a kennel to be reserved. As it came time to board the ferry i asked if i might assist my friend who's dog also to remain namless but cute has not done much kennelling OK none so we were told ok and started to make our way up the gangplank to the ferry the whole time the FC(ferry cop) is following telling us how the are making an exception to allow the dog to walk onto the ferry and that it should be transported in said crate to the boat carried up a steep set of stairs and then transferred from one crate to the next for travel. We of course said that seemed silly and who would carry the crate up the stairs as the dog alone weighs 77lbs. This just seemed to infuriate the FC and he then told us next time that would be the way and walked away. Several minutes went by the dog of course is in the crate and i am saying goodbye to my friend when FC returns this time with help another fery employee. I explain I am leaving and the FC then follows me downstairs and tells me I am never welcome on the boat again at this point we have some words and i leave wait for the other employee to come who then explains that policy is in fact to wal;k your dog onto the ferry and then crate. I explain to him that he might repeat this to the FC and thank him for his co-operation and go on my way
